Set halfway up a hillside in lovely Albir, Hotel Sun Palace has sunlit rooms, all with private terraces, and a rooftop bar to spend magical evenings with a cocktail or two. The rooms are oriented around a central swimming pool, including a small adjoining section for children. Happily, Rick’s Café is close to the poolside action, so you don’t have to venture far from your sun bed for refreshments. If you’re considering a wellness break, the Tahara Spa within the hotel has a Turkish bath, sauna, and hot tub alongside a lovely indoor pool, and there’s a gym here, too. If you can bear to part with your poolside lounger, you can walk downhill to Albir Beach, although if you don’t fancy the uphill return, the hotel runs an hourly shuttle bus to and from the beach. The main restaurant, El Far, is buffet-style, with live cooking stations where chefs rustle up delicious Mediterranean dishes. Afterwards, head up to Rooftop 360 for a cocktail and views across the Bay of Altea and the Benidorm skyline and raise a glass to another sun splashed day in Spain.
