If you’re drawn to hotels that are immersed in nature, you’ll absolutely love Iberostar Waves Club Cala Barca. It’s in a tranquil spot on Majorca’s southeast coast, surrounded by pine forests that slope down to secluded beaches and rocky inlets with beautifully clear water. You only have to wander a couple of minutes to get to the nearest beach (Cala Barca Trencada) for a refreshing dip in the Mediterranean or a peaceful hour or two spent chilling in the shade. If swimming pools are more your scene, you’ll be pleased to know there are 10 of them dotted throughout the hotel’s grounds – five for adults and five for children, including a splash pool with slides, water jets and a pirate ship. The Star Camp is another standout feature, hosting tailor-made activity programmes for kids aged from four all the way up to 17. I’ve included Iberostar Waves Club Cala Barca as a particularly strong family option, as it ticks so many of the boxes you’re looking for. It’s a fantastic family-focused All Inclusive resort with a huge choice of pools, children’s splash and play areas, activities and entertainment, along with family accommodation and direct access to a lovely sandy cove – so there should be plenty to keep everyone happy without having to venture far. Recent reviews are also encouraging when it comes to being able to find sunbeds, which I know is an important consideration! The compromise here is the early 6am outbound flight, although it does mean making the most of your first day in Majorca; the only alternative flight is much later at around 8pm. I’ve also upgraded this option to include private airport transfers rather than the much longer shared coach transfer. Seats together on the flights can also be pre-booked at an additional cost if you would like these added.
