Paphos, Tasmaria

Tasmaria deals in friendly, fuss-free stays to vibrant Paphos. Just 10 minutes’ stroll from the Tombs of the Kings, and less than 15 from the beach, it’s a great base if you’re all about exploring. Head into the resort centre – about 20 minutes’ stroll, or 10 minutes in a cab – and you’ll find it’s teeming with bars and restaurants. If you like a bit of historical charm, the Old Town is well worth a mosey, too, with its pretty, bougainvillea-clad buildings, its mix of Ottoman and neoclassical architecture, and its smattering of quaint, local shops. Back at base you can take a load off on a poolside sun lounger – the perfect antidote after a day spent traipsing around the resort. And with a poolside bar to handle the drinks, what more could you need for a lazy afternoon soaking up the Cypriot sunshine? Just so you know, in-room air conditioning is available for a fee, which is a payable locally.
