Located beneath the snow covered trees in the enchanting village of Äkäslompolo, these traditional log cabins combine rustic charm with modern comfort, making them the perfect winter hideaway for your unforgettable Christmas break. Wake up to a magical blanket of snow and enjoy the warmth of your own private sauna and fireplace after a day of Arctic adventures. Each cabin is unique - from classic pine logs to modern finishes - and includes fully equipped kitchens, perfect for self-catering. Whether you're close to the village centre or nestled deep in the peaceful forest, the stunning wilderness views are unforgettable. The cabins range from around 250-1500 metres (five to 30 minutes walk) to the main excursion meeting point at the Akas Hotel, which is near the centre of the village. Unplug completely and reconnect with nature – no Wi-Fi means no distractions, just the peace and magic of the Lapland wilderness. Lapland is one of the best places in the world to witness the Northern Lights and staying in the Ylläs Log Cabins during the winter months provides an excellent opportunity to witness the hues of greens, purples and reds lighting up the dark night sky. The cabins are a great base to enjoy our optional extra activities such as snowmobiling, reindeer and husky rides and snowshoeing. Plus, after a day of exploring, you can unwind in your cabin's private sauna or by the fireplace.
